Dinorah Azpuru is a full professor in the Department of Political Science at Wichita State University (Kansas, United States) where he teaches courses in the areas of data analysis and comparative politics.
She was Visiting Professor and Research Coordinator of the Latin American Public Opinion Project (LAPOP) at Vanderbilt University. For several years she was the director of the LAPOP Project for Guatemala and is now an Expert Advisor to the project.
She has a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and other postgraduate studies in Guatemala, Sweden, and Switzerland. He obtained his degree in Political Science at the Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala.
Azpuru has numerous publications in the areas of public opinion, democratization, and peace processes in Latin America, and United States-Latin America relations. Her most recent book is “Explaining Support for Populism in Contemporary Latin America.”

Before starting his teaching career in the United States, she served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at Rafael Landívar University and Coordinator of the Political Research Department at ASIES. In addition, she held prominent positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Supreme Electoral Tribunal.
