My work is broadly comparative especially across Latin America and Africa, but I have an emphasis on Nicaragua and Central America. My current book project, When Rebels Win: Ideology, Statebuilding, and Power after Rebel Victory in Civil Wars, looks at Sandinista governance after Nicaragua’s revolution in comparison with cases in Uganda, Liberia, and elsewhere.
