Rachel A. Schwartz is an assistant professor of international and area studies at the University of Oklahoma. Her research focuses on political violence and its legacies, human rights, peacebuilding, and corruption in Central America. She is the author of the book “Undermining the State from Within: The Institutional Legacies of Civil War in Central America” (Cambridge University Press, 2023). During the 2019-2020 academic year, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Tulane University’s Center for Inter-American Policy and Research.
